A hardy alpine succulent forming tight rosettes of green leaves tipped with deep red. Commonly known as the Houseleek, this species is easy to grow and develops clusters of offsets that form attractive mats over time. Excellent in pots, rock gardens, or troughs.
Care
- Light: Full sun to partial shade. Colour is best with good light exposure.
- Water: Moderate watering through the warmer months, reducing over winter. Avoid waterlogging.
- Temperature: Frost tolerant; suited to cool to temperate climates.
- Media: Use a free-draining cactus or succulent mix.
- Feeding: Apply a diluted, low-nitrogen fertiliser during the growing season for best colour.
