Syngonium podophyllum 'Maya Red' is a cultivated variety of the species native to the tropical rainforests of Central and South America. This cultivar is recognised for its foliage that displays a blend of pink-red tones with green margins, which may deepen or soften depending on light conditions and leaf maturity. The arrow-shaped juvenile leaves may gradually develop more defined lobes as the plant matures, although in many indoor settings it retains its juvenile form. In its natural habitat, the species grows as a climbing plant, using adventitious roots to attach to surrounding vegetation.
Water: Keep soil evenly moist but not waterlogged; allow the top layer to partially dry between waterings.
Humidity: Thrives in moderate to high humidity; occasional misting can be beneficial in dry environments.
Media: Use a well-draining potting mix containing organic matter.
Temperature: Maintain temperatures between 18-27°C; protect from cold drafts.
Fertiliser: Apply a balanced liquid fertiliser every 4-6 weeks during the growing season.
Repotting: Repot every 1-2 years or when root-bound.

Plant Health Certification (PHC) Fees:
$20 fee applies to WA orders.
$10 fee applies to NT and TAS orders.
