It features arrowhead-shaped leaves suffused with pink to deep rose tones, often with subtle green margins or veining. The intensity of the pink can vary depending on light exposure, with brighter, indirect light encouraging stronger colouration. Like other Syngoniums, it begins with a compact, juvenile form but will develop more lobed leaves as it matures if given vertical support. In its native form, the species grows in the humid understory of tropical forests, using aerial roots to climb tree trunks.
