Tillandsia ionantha 'Curly' is a selected cultivar of Tillandsia ionantha, known for its distinctive curling leaf habit. Like the species, it originates from tropical regions of Mexico and Central America, where it grows on trees in bright, humid environments. This cultivar maintains the compact size and red blushing foliage typical of ionantha but adds a unique twist—literally. The leaves curl and twist outward, giving the plant a unique appearance.

Care Tips:

  • Light: Prefers bright, indirect light; some early morning sun is beneficial
  • Water: Mist 3–4 times weekly or soak briefly once a week; ensure complete drying
  • Humidity: Performs best in moderate to high humidity with good air movement
  • Media: Mount on cork, bark, or wire frames; no soil required
  • Temperature: Thrives in 16–30°C; protect from frost and cold drafts
  • Fertiliser: Use diluted tillandsia fertiliser monthly during the growing season

  • Tuesday Dispatch: Orders placed by Sunday 11:59 PM AEST.
  • Friday Dispatch: Orders placed by Wednesday 11:59 PM AEST.

Orders placed after these cut-offs will be dispatched on the next available day.

Plant Health Certification (PHC) Fees:

  • $20 fee applies to WA orders.
  • $10 fee applies to NT and TAS orders.

This fee is per order (not per plant) and is included in your shipping cost at checkout. It covers the mandatory biosecurity treatments (ICA-29, PS-27, ICA-62) required for interstate compliance.
