

Tillandsia plagiotropica
Tillandsia plagiotropica is a lesser-known species native to the cloud forests of Guatemala and El Salvador, typically found growing at elevations between 1,000 and 2,000 metres. It prefers cool, moist environments with consistent airflow. This species forms an open rosette of soft, pale green leaves and produces a simple, slightly arching inflorescence with white to very pale greenish flowers. The name 'plagiotropica' refers to the angled growth of the flowering stem. It is appreciated for its elegant shape, ease of care in humid conditions, and gentle overall appearance.

- Media: Best mounted on cork, bark, or wood; no soil necessary
- Temperature: Ideal range is 12–24°C; not tolerant of prolonged heat or frost
- Fertiliser: Apply diluted tillandsia fertiliser once monthly in the growing season
