Soehrensia spachiana (Syn. Trichocereus spachianus), commonly known as the Golden Torch Cactus, is a fast-growing columnar species native to Argentina. It is renowned for its golden spines and stunning nocturnal white flowers, which attract pollinators such as moths and bats. This species thrives in arid conditions and is popular for landscaping and ornamental cultivation.
Distinctive Features
- Columnar Growth: Upright, branching stems reaching up to 2 metres in height.
- Golden Spines: Bright yellow, soft spines covering the ribs of the plant.
- Large White Flowers: Fragrant, trumpet-shaped blooms that open at night and fade by morning.
Care Tips
