cancel Sold out
Tylecodon buchholzianus is a fascinating caudiciform succulent native to the arid regions of Namibia and South Africa. This plant is well-adapted to drought conditions, storing water in its swollen, gnarled stems. Its peculiar growth habit, with contorted branches and sparse seasonal leaves, makes it a fantastic collection piece.
Care Tips
- Light: Prefers bright, indirect light to full sun. Tolerates some direct exposure but should be protected from intense afternoon sun.
- Water: Water sparingly during the growing season (winter) and reduce watering significantly in summer dormancy.
- Humidity: Thrives in dry conditions; does not require high humidity.
- Temperature: Best kept between 10-25°C. Protect from frost as temperatures below 5°C can be harmful.
- Fertiliser: Use a diluted, low-nitrogen succulent fertiliser during the active growing season.
- Potting: Requires well-draining, sandy or gritty soil, preferably a cactus or succulent mix.
- Propagation: Grown from cuttings or seeds; cuttings should be left to dry before planting.
