cancel Sold out
Nepenthes edwardsiana × burbidgeae is a hybrid pitcher plant from the highlands of Borneo, combining the highly decorative peristome of N. edwardsiana with the cream-coloured body and flared mouth of N. burbidgeae.
Pitchers often feature pale cream or yellow bodies marked with deep red or burgundy tones, especially near the mouth and lid. With maturity, it develops into a scrambling climber, producing upper pitchers with more flared lids.
Care Tips
- Light: Prefers bright filtered light to partial sun; too much direct light may scorch young leaves.
- Water: Keep consistently moist with pure water (rain, distilled, or RO). Avoid allowing the substrate to dry out.
- Humidity: High humidity (above 75%) is essential for robust pitcher formation.
- Media: Use an airy, low-nutrient mix of sphagnum moss, perlite, and orchid bark to promote root health.
- Temperature: Ideal in cool highland conditions: 10–25 °C with a notable night drop for best growth.
- Fertiliser: Very dilute orchid or carnivorous plant feed monthly during active growth; overfeeding may inhibit pitcher production.
- Repotting: Every 2–3 years or when roots become congested. Handle gently to avoid damaging fine root hairs.
