Tillandsia caliginosa x crocata
Tillandsia caliginosa × crocata is a hybrid that combines the soft, silvery foliage of Tillandsia caliginosa with the highly fragrant yellow flowers of Tillandsia crocata. Both parent species are native to southern South America, where they grow in dry woodlands and rocky habitats with strong light and excellent air circulation. The hybrid inherits a fine-textured, silvery appearance and compact size, with the added benefit of the sweet, citrus-like fragrance from its crocata lineage. It is a resilient, attractive hybrid suited to bright indoor conditions or sheltered outdoor settings.
Distinctive features:
- Silvery, soft-textured leaves forming a small, clumping rosette
- Produces golden-yellow flowers with a strong, sweet fragrance
- Compact habit, generally under 10 cm in height
- Foliage covered in fine trichomes suited for drier environments
- Forms dense clusters over time through frequent offsetting
Care Tips:
