Tillandsia kammii

Tillandsia kammii is a rare species native to northern Peru, where it grows on cliffs and rocky outcrops in dry inter-Andean valleys at elevations of approximately 800–1,600 metres. It is adapted to bright, arid environments and is recognised for its elegant, arching grey-green leaves and tall, upright inflorescence. The floral spike is striking, branched and often flushed with vivid pink, bearing pale violet tubular flowers. This species was described relatively recently and remains uncommon in cultivation, appealing to collectors of xeric and high-elevation Tillandsias.
Care Tips:
- Light: Requires bright light to full sun; benefits from outdoor exposure in suitable climates

- Media: Mount on cork, stone, or wood; best displayed upright to support tall inflorescence
- Temperature: Ideal range is 16–30°C; avoid prolonged cold or excessive moisture
- Fertiliser: Apply diluted tillandsia fertiliser monthly during the growing season
