Tillandsia parvispica is a diminutive bromeliad species native to Brazil, belonging to the T. polystachia group. Reaching a modest height of around 20 cm, this plant forms neat rosettes and is valued for its compact growth. It requires protection from frost in cooler southern climates.

Care Tips

  • Light: Prefers bright, indirect light or dappled sun; avoid intense midday sun.
  • Water: Mist several times a week in warm seasons; reduce in winter, ensuring it dries quickly between waterings.
  • Humidity: Thrives in moderate to high humidity; above 50% is ideal.
  • Media: Mount on bark, cork, or grown bare root with good air circulation.
  • Temperature: Keep above 5 °C; protect from cold snaps in temperate zones.
  • Fertiliser: Use diluted bromeliad or orchid fertiliser monthly during the growing season.
  • Repotting: Not applicable; best mounted or suspended in free air.

Shipping Schedule and Biosecurity Information

  • Dispatch Day: All orders are dispatched on Tuesdays.
  • Cut-off for Same Week Dispatch: Orders must be placed by Monday 7am (AEST) to be sent that week. Orders placed after this will be dispatched the following Tuesday.

WA, NT & TAS Orders

  • Cut-off: Orders to WA, NT and TAS must be placed by Friday 7am (AEST) to be included in the following week’s dispatch.
  • Treatment & Delay: These orders require biosecurity treatment and certification, which is completed each Friday. Please allow an additional 1–2 weeks for processing.

Plant Health Certification (PHAC) Fees

  • $20 fee applies to WA orders.
  • $10 fee applies to NT and TAS orders.
  • This fee is per order (not per plant) and is included in your shipping cost at checkout.
