Tillandsia tectorum 'Filiform'
release_alert Low Stock - 1 available
Tillandsia tectorum ‘Filiform’ is a named form of T. tectorum characterised by its especially slender, thread-like leaves, all covered in dense white trichomes that help protect it from high light and dry air in its native Andean habitat. This particular stock originates from Paul T. Isley III’s nursery and is noted by collectors for its uniform leaf shape and reliable quality. Like the typical form, it produces an open rosette and a slender bloom spike with violet tubular flowers when mature.
Care Tips:
- Light – Provide bright, indirect light to full sun; good airflow is essential.
- Water – Mist or soak lightly, allowing the plant to dry quickly; reduce watering in cooler months.
- Humidity – Thrives in moderate to low humidity when airflow is good.
- Media – Best grown mounted or displayed loose; no soil required.
- Temperature – Best grown at 10–27 °C; protect from frost.
- Fertiliser – Apply a diluted bromeliad fertiliser during the active growing season.
- Repotting – Not applicable; pups form naturally and can be separated when mature.
