Aloe dichotoma "Tree Aloe"

The quiver tree, also known as Aloe dichotoma or Kokerboom is a distinctive tree native to Southern Africa.

It's known for its tall, branching stem and the use of its hollowed branches by indigenous people to make quivers for arrows.

One of the most popular of landscaping Aloes. Dichotoma grows tall and upright and forms branches like a tree. Growth is very slow reaching 1 to 1.5 meters in 10 years.

Position - full sun or partial shade. Great in gardens, background planting, rockeries or pots.

Indoors only in well-lit positions otherwise they will lose their nice shape and colour.

Watering - can be watered all year round with most growth over summer months. Plants will survive without water for many months but will do better if watered all year.

Feeding - 25% of recommended dosage monthly in growing period. The less fertiliser the better the shape of the plant. Fertilisers high in nitrogen can produce larger plants with less colour.

Repotting - can be left to overgrow their pots or repotted in the warmer months in almost any well drained potting mix.
