66mm Pot
Pleiospilos nelii 'Royal Flush'
A relative of the Stone Plants, Pleisopilos are succulents able to survive high sun and extreme neglect. Royal flush is a purple form of the Split Rock and produces large 60mm purple tlowers in autumn that open only in the late afternoon. Plants can divide and become two after a few years.
Position -
full sun to partial shade in covered areas to control watering. Not suited for gardens.
Watering -
should be watered well but snould dry outcompletely after watering; shallow pots will help with this. Plants will survive without water for many months but needwater a few times over the warmer months. The plant will tellyou if it needs water, as leaves will soften a little.
When new leaves are growing do not water. Overwatering can kill Pleiospilos, so if in doubt, don't water.
Feeding -
25% of recommended dosage monthly in growing period. The less fertiliser, the better the shape of the plant. Fertilisers high in nitrogen can produce larger plants with less colour.
Repotting -
can be left to overgrow their pots or repotted in the warmer months in a well-drained potting mix.
